Imperial Marine and Army personnel and installations are also placed on high alert. 1117 -Year Two 036 -1117 News of Strephon#s assassination announced on Terra. The following day, riots and full scale rebellion breakout in several locations. The fighting is particularly bad in India, where Imperial Army have to be called in to rescue ethnic Vilani who lived in the region. 060 -1117 The Solomani High Council makes decision to invade the Imperium and seize Terra. The decision follows over a month of secret debate within the Secretariat which saw several ultra-Liberal members resign. Orders placing the Solomani Navy and member-state armies on high alert are issued the next day. 090 -1117 The entire Imperial Old Expanses Fleet receives orders to withdraw from their current positions and attack Dulinor#s forces. This order is protested initially by its commander and the commander of the Imperial Rim Fleet, Admiral Boris Gokhman. The order is later revised to leave a token force of a half dozen reserve fleets to cover the Solomani border. 143 -1117 Solomani invasion begins. The three prong advance into the Old Expanses, Daibei, and Solomani Rim Sectors meets stiff resistance in Daibei, and virtually none in the Old Expanses. In the Solomani Rim, three separate forces (consisting of both naval vessels and troop transports) take part in the invasion. The first, the Aldabawi Fleet, invades that subsector from Krypton. The second, the Dingir Fleet, lays siege to Iilike. The final fleet, the Liberation Fleet, occupies Scandia, Tewfik and Melchior in the Arcturus subsector. 151 -1117 Ember falls to the Solomani Liberation Fleet as the Solomani continue their advance on all fronts. Imperial forces retreat to Terra and Prometheus, expecting the next Solomani advance to be directed to one or both of these systems. The Solomani Albadawi Fleet lays siege to Munilgan after an initial assault fails. Other elements of the Albadawi Fleet advance into the Gashidda system and link up with advancing elements of the Solomani Dingir Fleet. ***The biggest cause of attrition within the Imperial Rim Fleet at this point is not the Solomani, but defections of Imperial vessels to the various factions which are developing in the Imperial Rebellion. Many ships simply refuel and depart the system they are defending for parts coreward. Numerous squadrons within the fleets remain loyal to the their commanders, however, and those that chose to stay and fight put up a spirited resistance. 152 -1117 Loyal Imperial fleet elements in the Terran and Prometheus systems are ordered to make for Dingir at best possible speed. Prometheus is ordered evacuated of all military personnel, and the additional Marine and Army troops sent to Terra. 154 -1117 Siege of Terra begins as elements of the Solomani Liberation Fleet by-pass Prometheus and jump directly to the Terran system. A three day battle for control of Mars ends in Solomani victory. 158 -1117 First Battle of Dingir begins. Advancing elements of the Solomani Dingir Fleet arrive in the outer system and skirmish with system defense boats for control of Iirumish (a large gas giant). 159 -1117 Imperial troop transport ships arriving from the Prometheus system manage to elude the Solomani blockade and arrive safely on Terra with the loss of only two ships. The arrival of the Prometheus garrison strongly reinforces the Imperial garrison there, and helps quell anti-Imperial riots. 160 -1117 Solomani forces advancing from the Alpha Leonis Sector seize control of a number of worlds just within the boundaries of the Solomani Rim, chief among them Ludovic and Palnu. 166 -1117 Battle of Dingir ends in a decisive Imperial victory. Having securing Iirumish, Solomani forces jumped into the inner system, only to be confronted by the heavily reinforced 115th Fleet (the reinforcements consisted of the bulk of the ships that withdrew from Terra and Prometheus on the 152nd), commanded by Admiral Yau. The surprised Solomani (who to this point had been confronted primarily by much smaller forces) were defeated in detail and forced to withdraw. 168 -1117 Fleet elements from the Vegan Autonomous District begin arriving in the Dingir system. These reinforcements serve to deter further Solomani advances toward the system. 169 -1117 The first Solomani assault on Terra fails, but at great cost to both sides. General Marc Yoshtiru, commander of the Imperial forces on Terra is killed during the attack. He is succeeded by General Benjamin Gomez. c. 186 -1117 Battles of Zaggisi and Lagash begin. Both end in Imperial victories. c. 200 -1117 Solomani raids on Durruhesh and Grendel. Iddamakur briefly occupied. 205 -1117 Talks toward a cease-fire begin between IRIS (acting without authorization from Admiral Gokhman) and representatives of the Solomani Party. 228 -1117 Second Solomani assault on Terra begins. Eventually a foothold is gained by Solomani forces on the surface near Perth, Australia. This foothold is widened and expanded slowly as the Solomani must fight for every meter of ground they gain. 310 -1117 A cease-fire agreement negotiated between IRIS and Solomani Party representatives is announced. The agreement takes the high commands of both the Imperial and Solomani forces in the area by surprise (the Solomani High Command was under the impression its representatives were going to negotiate an Imperial surrender). Originally planned to last 90 days, it is largely ignored by both sides. The Solomani representatives who negotiated the agreement are arrested by Solsec upon the arrival at Home for exceeding their authority. c. 327 -1117 After a series of defeats, the Solomani advance into the Daibei Sector is stopped so that their forces have an opportunity to resupply and reorganize. 350 -1117 The Old Expanses Sector is formally annexed by the Solomani Confederation. The agreement follows talks between Solomani and Sector officials. At the time Solomani forces were continuing to extend their occupation of the sector almost unmolested. By the end of the year, however, elements of the Diaspora Fleet, working in cooperation with Margaret#s faction (on an unofficial basis), had reestablished a continuous front-line against Solomani forces and were preparing for a counterattack. c. 327 - 1117 After a series of defeats, the Solomani advance into the Daibei Sector is stopped so that their forces have an opportunity to resupply and reorganize. 350 - 1117 The Old Expanses Sector is formally annexed by the Solomani Confederation. Pockets of resistance still exist in the Himalayas and in the Amazon and Congo rainforests. Under orders from General Gomez, a number of Imperial Marines manage to sneak out from encirclement and go underground. They would later form the basis for continued Imperial resistance on Terra. 365 -1117 General Gomez offers his surrender of all remaining Imperial forces under his direct command.
