     [DS gave straight ST-2].

  +3 Hide (DR1, equivalent to winter clothing).
     [DS gave HT+2, Reduced Hit Points-2.  I didn't see where they are
     more healthy, though].

 +50 6 Arms total, with extra flexibility.
     [It seems a little unfair that there is no points break for using
     your arms as your legs and head, but this is counterbalanced by
     Mute, below.  DS was using the old limb costs, I think].

 +10 Ambidextrous.
  +3 Manual Dexterity+1 [Debatable].
 +10 Regrowth (fingers only except for larvae, -50%;
               takes extra time: 3 x 2d weeks, -25%).
     [DS didn't give any of these three, but does give Clinging - where
     did this come from?].

 +15 Infravision.
   0 Lower-centred frequency hearing.
     [Although I considered +5 Subsonic Hearing].

 +25 Mute.
     [I'd be tempted to give them this at -15 since it's "correctable",
     but taking the full benefit helps to balance the unfair cost of the
     arms.  I wouldn't change one without the other].

 -15 Pacifism: No personal combat, including with firearms.
     [DS only gave -10, but I think it's worth as much as Self-Defense
     Only].

 -15 Extremely Curious.
     [individuals can buy off levels of Curious; the racial "norm" has
     been set to maximum so Curiosity never counts against the -40pt
     disadvantage limit.  DS surprisingly didn't mention Curiosity at
     all].

 -10 Compulsive Manipulation (comprises the urge to teach and protect
     the young - including "lesser" races - and the urge to manipulate
     society and companions "for their own good, of course").
     [Again, nothing from DS on this; -10 may be too generous, but it
     deserves at least -5].

  -1 Confront problems face on or avoid them totally [just me].

  +1 Gesture @ IQ [just me].

  -5 Racial Intolerance: No other race matches the Hivers [just me].

  -5 Odious Racial Habit: Occasionally drop larva [from DS].
 -10 Racial Reputation: Smug Manipulative Cowards.
     [DS gave them -10 Social Stigma: "Bug-eyed monsters" instead].

Note that the Hivers are not very popular...

In addition to this, 50% of Hivers have -5 Anosmia, and the other 50% have
+6 Acute Smell+3.  Just me again.
